Swim Across America
Friday and Saturday, July 11-12, 2008
A national charitable organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for cancer research, Swim Across America hosts two swimming events each year to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. All proceeds support follow-up care and research for cancer survivors at Dana-Farber's David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic.
Boston Harbor Island Swim
This 22-mile open-water relay features Olympians and local swimmers plunging into the Atlantic to make a difference for cancer survivors. This event kicks off with a party and silent auction and the swim starts at Rowe's Wharf in Boston.
Nantasket Swim
Swimmers age 12 and up are invited to join this fundraiser, which features a one-mile competitive swim and a half-mile recreational swim. Both events start at the Nantasket Beach House in Hull, Mass.
